The conversion process uses the standard UNICON true conversion methodology so that the converted system is built using only the components that the customer has chosen to use as the new platform.

The main features of our IBM Mainframe to Open Systems conversion service are...

CONVERSION NOT EMULATION : We provide a true conversion - not a CICS, IMS, or BATCH emulation on Open Systems. The converted system is no longer a CICS, IMS or IBM BATCH system; it has been fully converted to a true Open System running in a true native Open Systems environment.

PROGRAMS : The IBM programs are converted to the customers chosen open systems programming languages; typically ACUCOBOL, MICRO FOCUS or FUJITSU COBOL. The original program structure and logic is fully maintained.

SCREENS : The CICS BMS screens or IMS FMS screen are converted to standard COBOL screen section screens that are included in the screen section of the converted programs, or WINFORMS, or ASPCX/WEBFORMS. All the original screen features and functions are fully maintained or enhanced.

DATA FILES : VSAM data files are converted to Vision or C-ISAM data files. The IBM databases are converted to the customers chosen relational database � DB2, ORACLE, SQL-Server, TERADATA, etc. If required, All original file structures and access methods are maintained or enhanced.

INDEX SEQUENTIAL TO RDBMS : We are also able to offer the ability to convert VSAM files to RDBMS, including converting the program file access logic. This conversion to a RDBMS can be performed at the same time as the CICS to Open Systems conversion or it can be performed at a later time.

BATCH PROCSSSING : The IBM JCL is converted to the customers chosen open system scripting language � WINDOWS .bat, UNIX shell scripts, Perl scripts , etc The converted jobs are run on the new open systems platform in a very similar manner to the IBM Mainframe

PROGRAM MAINTAINABILITY : The original program structure and logic is fully maintained in the converted programs. There is no loss in program maintainability.
